LOVE

Maybe you’ve heard your grandparents, or your parents, saying that it’s not enough to love? And if you were like me, you looked at them without understanding  it, shrugged your shoulders and moved on with your life.

Until you get older, and one day you catch yourself thinking about that phrase “it’s not enough to love…”, and you smile because you finally understand what they meant. It’s not enough to love because we will need more than that. At a certain point we need to know who we are, where we are, what we want and don’t want, where we are going, how we get there and who we intend to be along the way.

We have reached a time in life when we need to define and establish our values, our mission, maintain focus and determination, and that doesn’t end when we meet our “better half”. It is a process of maturity and growth, and one that should not be forgotten when another person enters our routine and daily life.

It is not enough to love because we need self-knowledge, awareness and dedication to continue developing self-love and acceptance of our strengths and weaknesses, talents and shadows, which are also fundamental in our relationships.
