ASHTANGA YOGA WORKSHOP WITH TEACHER VERA SIMÕES, NOVEMBER 10th TO 11th, AT YOGA SHALA MATOSINHOS, IN PORTO.

 

THE WORKSHOP IS OPEN TO ALL, INITIATES TO YOGA AND ASHTANGA YOGA, AND MORE EXPERIENCED PRACTITIONERS!

 

It is a special opportunity to start learning and deepening a Yoga practice that has the potential to help us detoxify the body and soothe our mind. The Workshop is taught byVera Simões, Authorized Level II teacher by the recognized KPJAYI (Shri Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute). Vera is the teacher at Ashtanga Cascais and the author of the book “Stop. Feel, Breathe. A Yoga Practice to Transform Body, Mind and Soul.”

 

Program –
November 10, Saturday,
two classes beginning at 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM,
Mysore Style (the traditional form of Ashtanga Yoga practice and teaching, open to beginners to Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga and more experienced practitioners).

10.30h – Pause to rest and eat something light.

11h – Lecture – Where to begin, and what challenges and inspirations to build a consistent practice of Yoga – How to start practicing Ashtanga Yoga, what challenges will we encounter, and where can we seek inspiration to continue to deepen and develop our ability to learn to be and take care of ourselves. (2h)

November 11, Sunday,
two classes beginning at 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM,
Mysore Style (Vera will work with each participant to gain presence, stability and comfort in our breathing and in each set of movements and postures).

10.30h – Pause to rest and eat something light.

11h – Lecture – Roots, Alignment and Fluency – Gain roots through the fundamental techniques that make up Ashtanga Yoga, and sustain a safe practice by the bases of alignment, to flow through the presence of a free and conscious breath. (2h)
