Intensive 5-day workshop with the teacher Vera Simões from July 3 to 7, at Padma Yoga Shala in S. Miguel, in the Azores.

It will be 5 days with Mysore Style classes (the traditional  way of teaching), First Guided class & Ashtanga Yoga Lectures for deepening the practice! This Workshop is open to all, beginners to Yoga and to Ashtanga Yoga and more experienced practitioners. Vera Simões returns to Padma Yoga Shala in Ponta Delgada – São Miguel – in the Azores, to teach this 5-day Workshop. It is the perfect occasion to visit the Island of São Miguel, in the Azores, and combine the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and an immersion in the midst of Nature!


Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic yoga system from South India, characterized by the synchronization of movement and breathing. There are three series of postures that aim to detoxify the body, the nervous system and stabilize the mind. The regular practice of Ashtanga Yoga promotes a strong, flexible and resilient body as well as a quiet and determined mind.

Vera Simões is AUTHORIZED TEACHER Level II by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute.

She started practicing Yoga at age 16, in 1999 when she started her first Yoga classes. But it is only from 2003 that she learned Ashtanga Yoga according to the directions of the teacher Tarik Van Prehn. In 2007 she began her travels to Mysore, South India, to study Ashtanga Yoga at the renowned Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI). In 2010 she received from the hands of her teacher, Sharath Jois, the honor of being an Authorized Teacher with the acronym of the KPJAYI. And in 2016, she again had the joy of receiving Level II of the Authorization for the teaching of Ashtanga Yoga in the manner of KPJAYI.

She teaches Yoga since 2003, and Ashtanga Yoga since 2006, has been the co-founder and teacher of Ashtanga Cascais Yoga Shala since 2007. Her classes reflect the influence of her teachers, trying to maintain the tradition of Mysore and the Jois family. She is also the author of the book “Stop.Feel. Breathe.”.
