Our diet

As a Health Coach, I believe that our health is much more than the absence of symptoms, it is a multidimensional state of vitality, happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment.

To promote our health it is not enough to just take care of our diet and exercise, it is necessary to create a lifestyle that works, interconnects and complements our physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual aspects. But food remains an essential pillar of our well-being, and the old phrase from the Greek philosopher and physician, Hippocrates, “We are what we eat” continues to hold true.Because what we eat effectively builds and nourishes our body, influences our thoughts, the way we feel and relate to ourselves and others, what we do, our energy, mood, disposition, productivity, the quality of our sleep, the connection with our spirituality, etc.

There is no one diet for everyone, we are all unique beings with different needs, and what works for one person may be completely inappropriate for another.

And that’s why there’s no point in trying to copy the latest fashion, or eating that way just because our friend, cousin, etc. does it. We need to stop and think, what happens when we finish a meal or after eating a certain food, are we more energetic, awake, or on the contrary tired, acidic, bloated, etc.? We need to gather information, and then use that knowledge to make realistic changes toward what we want for ourselves. And it will take time, dedication, and consistency to make attention and awareness a value-add, but along the way we gain confidence, knowledge, maturity, and connection.

There are countless scientific studies proving the benefits and disadvantages of eating food A, B or C, there are a variety of articles and books about the different diets and the importance of a good diet, in other words, there is no shortage of information! And there are specialists who can support us to better understand what works, such as a nutritionist who can better than anyone customize a diet according to our needs, or a psychologist to better manage our emotions, etc. But don’t forget that we have something inside us that can help us make this discovery, which is feeling. And to feel we need to calm down!

We are all different, and food is a very personal thing. More than fads and strict diets, it is really essential to look at food as a lifestyle that requires calm so that we can make sustainable choices that connect with our needs. It is not up to the Health Coach or Yoga teacher to tell you what you should or should not eat, but it is essential to understand the importance of nutrition for the quality of our life and our multidimensional health.
